BAO Systems is a digital health technology company. Since 2012 we have built, deployed, and operated health information systems for governments, multilaterals, and implementing partners across 85+ countries.

DHIS2 has been at the center of that work, but the brief has always been the same: get the right data to the right people, reliably, at the scale public health actually runs at.

ConneX is a natural extension of that — the same work, applied to the diagnostic device and connected health IoT, where the data starts.

That history is not background. It is the design brief. The decisions built into ConneX: store-and-forward over unreliable networks, segregated national instances for data sovereignty, consumables tracking built alongside diagnostic results: came from running programs in the countries where simpler approaches break. ConneX is what those programs taught us, engineered into a platform.

We set out to solve diagnostic connectivity for one program. That turned into eight countries, then 2,000+ devices, then a recognition that the architecture, the operations, and the integration patterns we'd built were applicable far beyond a single program.

ConneX is that work, built into a platform: connectivity hardware, software platform, and operations running as one, by a team with more than a decade of in-country delivery experience.
